About Susan Bray

Susan Bray

Susan Bray has more than 26 years of experience as a physical therapist and movement specialist and she currently owns and operates a small outpatient orthopedic practice, Performance Enhancement, Inc., in Trabuco Canyon, CA. She specializes in manual therapy, focusing on a functional assessment and treatment approach to promote long-term results.  She prides herself in her ability to assess the root cause of each patient’s problems, which facilitates a customized and efficient resolution of these problems, as opposed to simply treating her patients’ symptoms.  Susan treats general outpatient orthopedic injuries and women’s health issues and she also has extensive experience working with runners and golfers, as well as other athletes, with an emphasis on rehabilitation, performance enhancement, injury prevention, complete fascial alignment through structural integration, as well as providing health and wellness guidance.

Susan’s integrative approach to patient care enhances optimal health and wellness in her patient population. She utilizes manual therapy and functional training techniques, incorporating all three planes of human motion to fully engage the client in his or her authentic movement patterns to reach their desired level of function. This approach facilitates normal mobility, efficient body mechanics and functional strength, which ultimately promotes treatment carryover and successful return to her patients’ desired daily, recreational and sport-specific activities. Whether your goals include running a 10K, training for a high school sports team, lowering your golf handicap with an efficient and pain-free swing, recovering from work or personal injuries, walking comfortably with your family in the park, or simply getting onto the floor to play with your grandchildren, Susan will facilitate your healing so you can efficiently get back into action and stay at the top of your game!

Susan has also been a featured speaker at a variety of local venues discussing proper biomechanics of the golf swing and providing general education regarding injury prevention, stretching and proper technique and form for functional exercise programs. During these engagements, she describes the physical limitations that typically cause swing faults and improper biomechanical alignment with functional exercises and she discusses the manual treatment and exercise techniques required to normalize mobility and function.  She then discusses how utilizing this approach for performance enhancement results in injury prevention, reduction in pain and improved consistency and performance for her clients on the golf course and in the gym. Susan was also honored to be the featured fitness columnist for the weekly Golf Extra Section of the Orange County Register from January 2000- December 2000. Susan has also worked with the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) and the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) at local events in Hermosa Beach, CA and Manhattan Beach, CA.
